In 1996, we pioneered the 6-Tonne market in India with the revolutionary launch of the EX 60. Since then, our journey continues to redefine industry standards.
1998
The state of the art Dharwad plant was inaugurated.
This marked our commitment to enhancing localisation in our pursuit of advanced technology adoption. Spanning 118 acres, the plant has produced over 80,000+ machines to date.
1999
A separate identity was formed.
The Construction Equipment Business Unit (CEBU) was carved out into a separate company and renamed Telcon.
2000
The partnership was solidified.
Tata Motors and Hitachi Construction Machinery signed a joint venture agreement (80:20) to strengthen their collaboration.
2003
The ZAXIS Series launched in India.
Hitachi Construction Machinery’s ZAXIS series excavators, were at the cutting edge of technology when they were launched in India.

The partnership breaks new ground.
Tata Motors and Hitachi Construction Machinery sign a new JV with revised stakes (60:40).

New Joint Venture Agreement.
In 2010, Tata Motors and Hitachi Construction Machinery signed a new joint venture agreement, with a 40:60 stake distribution, strengthening their collaboration and innovation in the Construction Equipment industry.

Tata Hitachi Construction Machinery Pvt Ltd.
In 2012, the company was rebranded to Tata Hitachi Construction Machinery Company Private Limited, reflecting the strengthened partnership and commitment to excellence in the construction industry.
